My 3 Daily New Year's Coding Resolutions for 2024 🌟

Hello world! This time last year I began my journey into coding. Yesterday, marked the start of my journey into Data Analytics. I hope to share my Data and Machine Learning journey here on Codú, but for my first post, I would like to share my Coding Resolutions for the coming year (based on last year's experience!)

1. Steps My previous career had me running around like a mad woman but in the tech world, the majority of my time is now spent seated at my desk. My first resolution is to make sure I get out for a walk every day before breakfast for my health, sanity and to give my eyes a break. I can't tell you how many days last year a day went by and I hadn't left my house, so that's my first and most important change to my coding day.

2. Coding Workout Just like those 15 minute exercise workout videos on YouTube, I resolve to watch a 15 min (approx) code-related video daily (at 8am) to supplement my learning and maintain my 'muscles' (particularly in Javascript and Python essentials). If anyone has channel recommendations please leave them below 😊

3. Focus Mode I am guilty of jumping on notifications as soon as I get them on my smartphone (usually WhatsApp.. I have disabled Instagram notifications but I still always find myself scrolling there throughout the day!) So I have decided to make use of my laptop and smartphone's 'Do Not Disturb' mode between 8am-12pm and then 2pm-4pm daily so I can stay focused on my studying and not get sucked into social media this year.

These 3 SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-Bound) goals are part of my wider resolutions for 2024. I also plan on continuing to attend social events, hackathons as well as challenging myself with personal projects.

Let me know if you have any coding-related resolutions for this year below 🎉
